THE JEDI RETURNS: MARK HAMILL TO ATTEND CELEBRATION EUROPE


The galaxy's new hope is heading to Germany: Mark Hamill is confirmed to attend Star Wars Celebration Europe, where the legendary actor will appear onstage, as well as meet fans and sign in Autograph Hall. Best known for the iconic role of Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy, Hamill is also a giant in voice-acting, most notably for his multiple-decade turn as the Joker, from the classic Batman: The Animated Series to his BAFTA-winning performance in 2012's Arkham City.
Hamill has lent his voice to many other major animated works, including Hayao Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky and Nausicaa: The Valley of the WindThe Batman,The Incredible HulkThe Fantastic FourSpider-Man: The Animated SeriesThe Spectacular Spider-ManFuturamaRobot Chicken and Metalocalypse. He recently appeared as a surprise guest on the season finale of Criminal Minds.
Hamill is also the co-writer of a five-issue Dark Horse Comics series entitled The Black Pearl, a dark, edgy thriller that subverts the notion of what it means to be a costumed superhero. Hamill plans to direct a movie of the series based on a screenplay that he has co-written.

Star Wars creator George Lucas has married for the second time at a ceremony in California.
A spokeswoman for Lucasfilm confirmed the director had wed his long-term partner Mellody Hobson at his Skywalker Ranch on Saturday.
Lucas, 69, was previously married to film editor Marcia Lucas from 1969 to 1983.
It is the first marriage for Hobson, 44, who is chair of the board at Dreamworks Animation.
She is also president of investment firm, Ariel Investments.
Guests at the wedding included directors Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard.
Howard said on Twitter that the wedding was "a joy to behold" and the service "nothing short of profound".
The service was conducted by journalist Bill Moyers, who was once a Baptist minister.
Lucas recently won his first Emmy award for the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
He was presented with the prize by Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the original film trilogy, at a ceremony earlier this month.
Last year, Lucas sold his production company to Disney, which subsequently announced a new series of Star Wars films.
The seventh movie in the sci-fi serial is due to start production in the UK next year and is scheduled for release in 2015.
